Release Info

This 1958 album is one of Peggy Lee’s finest and most overlooked jazz albums. With an all-star tentet that includes Don Fagerquist, Pete Candoli, Barney Kessel and Shelly Manne, she delivers two originals and ten great standards with that simultaneously sultry and joyous delivery that belonged only to her.

At the end of the sessions, she recorded a single, covering two R & B songs “Fever” and “You Don’t Know” with just the rhythm section. On “Fever” she is accompanied only by bass, drums and finger snaps and turns in one of her jazziest and most sensual performances. It went on to be her biggest hit. That single is added to the newly remixed original album, which makes its first appearance on CD, mastered in 24 bit.
