First time on CD for the self titled 1962 Jack Teagarden LP, released on Verve which paired the leader with his old pals Bobby Hackett (cornet) and Bud Freeman (tenor sax) plus clarinettist Bob Wilber. Among the many highlights is Teagarden’s only existing version of the classic Mancini tune “Moon River”.
As a bonus there’s a previously unissued live set with excellent sound quality featuring Teagarden and Hackett at the 1959 Newport Jazz Festival.
